Children learn by interacting with their environment; the natural and social worlds that surround them. Our school will build upon this interaction by creating confident learners who pose questions, explore problems, and communicate solutions.
|
To nurture each child's innate curiosity, the Queens College School for Math, Science, and Technology expands the traditional boundaries of schools and classrooms so that children explore ideas. Student inquiry into the natural and social worlds is based on direct experience and the integration of thinking
across the curriculum. Children will become readers and writers, scientists and mathematicians, scholars and athletes, and artists of all disciplines in a safe and child-centered community. |
The 499 community will achieve “Equity for All” by fostering a positive and rigorous learning environment. All stakeholders will engage in strategic professional development and learning to deepen their knowledge about Social Emotional Learning Competencies and Next Generation Learning Standards, to bridge current units of study to Social Emotional Learning Competencies and Next Generation Standards.
